- Leading Private Equity Fund Second City Capital Adds
to Investment Team
Second City Capital Partners,
a leading Canadian private equity fund, has announced
that Richard Osborn has joined the firm as Partner.
Richard will focus on deal generation and portfolio
management for companies based in Canada and the Western
United States. Richard will be based in Vancouver, B.C.

Second City Capital Partners
was officially launched in 2004 with over $US 100 Million
in committed capital. The fund invests in both private
and public middle market companies and investments are
typically made in the form of equity or equity-like
instruments, mezzanine loans, bridge loans, or a combination
thereof.

Prior to joining Second City
Capital Partners, Richard was a Managing Partner with
Greenstone Venture Partners, an institutional venture
capital fund he co-founded. Richard led investments
across the IT sector in Canada, the U.S. and Europe.
Prior to founding Greenstone, Richard was Investment
Manager for two venture capital funds within the Business
Development Bank of Canada, with a combined $200 Million
commitment. Richard has degrees from UBC and Queen's
University.
The addition of Richard strengthens
the Second City Capital Partners’ Investment team in
Vancouver. In addition to Osborn and Belzberg,
the team also includes Chris Wallace and CFO Johnny
Ciampi. Belzberg and Ciampi also lead activities for
Gibralt Capital, a special situation and real estate
focused investment company that continues to invest
across North America.
